MNRE has issued continuation of the programme on “Research, Design and Development of Solar Photovoltaic Technology” for implementation during 2013-14.
The budget sanctioned during the current FY is Rs. 59.50 crore.
These provisions are meant for R&D in both Solar Photo Voltaic and Solar Thermal technologies.
Apart from the above outlay, a provision of Rs. 0.50 crore also exists in the current year‟s budget for "Other Administrative Expenses‟ on Solar R&D.
The expenditure on above scheme will be met from the budget head - Demand No.69; Major Head: 2810-New & Renewable Energy; 104-Research, Design & Development in Renewable Energy, 01-R&D in New & Renewable Energy Technologies, 02-Solar Energy, 31-Grants-in-aid General (2810.00.104.01.02.31) and 20-Other Administrative Expenses (2810.00.104.01.02.20) during the financial year 2013-14 (plan).
The release of funds for various R&D activities relating to Solar Thermal and Solar Photovoltaic will be made in consultation with IFD and the approval of competent authority.
This sanction is noted in the Expenditure Control Register at Sl. No. 17 Page No. 03 of the Solar R&D division for the year 2013-14.
